  • Our sauna has been built locally by the most experienced sauna builder in Western Australia boasting over 40+ years in the business. It is a proper Finnish sauna with a Harvia heater loaded with 100kgs of rocks to provide a more even heat throughout the entire sauna.

  • Age limit is 18 years old.

At Tribe Sauna + Ice though, we believe in fostering parent & child relationships in a safe and nurturing environment away from screens and peer-pressure. On an ad-hoc basis we'll allow entry of a minor aged 14+ at 1:1 parent to child ratio. Parents must supervise and be responsible for the well-being of their child at all times.

    Currently bookings for parent/child are:
Mondays 15:00 to 17:00 (last booking at 16:00). These bookings can only be made by contacting us on 0410 780 796. See next question for more info.

  • 14 to 17 yo casual pass add-on to parent member: $25/casual session. Please contact us to purchase + book. T+Cs apply. Parent has to be a member to purchase this add-on pass and attend session with their child.

  • It is really up to you and how you feel. We’re not here to break records.

We advise you to push yourself just a little past your comfort zone. In any case we do not recommend sauna sessions of more than 20 mins or if you start feeling dizzy or unwell.

  • Yes as it accelerates your muscle recovery. The heat also relieves muscle pain and promotes muscle growth.

  • As many times as you can / like / need. Huberman recommends 60mins cumulative per week.

  • The felt sauna hat is the traditional way of cooling the head and the hair during sauna bathing. The sauna hat is first soaked in water and then worn during the sauna. The water evaporates, cooling your head and allowing cool water to refresh you whilst you sauna. The benefits of the sauna hat is it allows the head to stay cooler for longer and enjoy the greater health benefits of a longer sauna session. Keeping your head cool has also been suggested to reduce hair loss, particularly for very regular sauna goers. What's best is that we have them for sale at reception. These are hand made with 100% wool felt.

  • Red light is used to help regulate your natural circadian rhythm by eliminating blue light as much as possible in the evenings and closer to bedtime. And it will help you sleep soundly after your sauna session.

  • It’s really up to your personal preference. Try both and see what works best for you.

  • Again it’s really up to you. Although in broad terms, if it’s a morning session, we would recommend finishing on a short ice bath so you’re fresh and ready for the day ahead. Our cold showers can do the trick too. If it’s an afternoon or evening session, we definitely recommend finishing on a sauna to enhance your sleep quality.

  • It’s really up to you, start with 15 seconds, work your way to 30 seconds, 1 minute etc. Again we suggest that you push yourself just past your comfort zone. We recommend no more than 3 minutes. Huberman recommends 11mins cumulative per week. It is better to do multiple plunges at low temperatures than fighting to stay in for extended periods of time. Make sure to get out of the ice bath if you start feeling dizzy or light headed.

  • Breathwork is your friend here. Try a box breathing of 4 counts inhale, 4 counts hold, 4 counts exhale and 4 counts hold. Repeat.

The aim is to calm your parasympathetic nervous system and slow your heart beat. Make sure to get out of the ice bath if you start feeling dizzy or light headed.

  • Ice baths reduce inflammation which means that if you do an ice bath straight after a workout it can blunt all your hard work at the gym. Although there aren't any definite studies on wait times, literature recommends waiting for at least 8 hours.

  • You can leave your hands out of the ice bath if it feels more comfortable, and try again next ice bath. Alternatively, you can tuck them in between your thighs or under your armpits.

  • You can leave your feet out of the ice bath if it feels more comfortable and try again next ice bath.

  • For hygiene reasons we do not allow you to put your head under water in the ice bath. Please adhere to this rule.

  • Sauna Hygiene - We take our members' health seriously and deep clean our sauna daily with a plant based, hospital grade antibacterial solution that was developed in Western Australia during COVID-19. We also mechanically dry our sauna every night to eliminate moisture build-up & bacteria.

Ice Bath Hygiene - Our top of the range Odin Ice Baths filter the entire volume of water in each ice bath six times per hour. Our filtration system consists of three separate filters for each ice bath as well as dual ultraviolet and ozone anti-bacterial systems.

Ice bath water is tested every day.
